A JustFund line of credit is approved based on an independent assessment by our in-house team of family law experts who determine if the net asset pool is sufficient to cover legal fees and other expenses, in a fair and responsible way.
We fund clients who are often turned away by traditional lenders, since they have low incomes or have been stay at home parents. Or they may be asset-rich but simply don’t want to sell assets to cover legal expenses.
Our policy is to issue a line of credit that is no greater than 20% of the total settlement amount likely to be received by the client so that fees and expenses do not unduly erode the client’s take home balance when the matter is finalised.
Any fees or interest out-of-pocket do not need to be paid until settlement and are repaid as a lump sum at settlement.

Clients may also apply for additional funds when additional or unexpected costs and expenses arise – the additional amount is simply added to their line of credit. JustFund can usually be approve these types of budget variations within a few days or even sooner for urgent matters.
