Our Founders

Why We Started JustFund

When JustFund founders Jack, Andy and Craig came together, they each saw the same problem from a different angle.

Jack and Andy, both former lawyers, had seen clients struggle to move forward because they could not afford upfront legal costs. In some cases, people with legitimate claims and a great deal at stake were being forced to delay action or walk away altogether because the funds simply were not available when they were needed.

Craig brought a background in financial services and technology, along with experience building solutions focused on financial wellbeing. He saw an opportunity to apply that thinking to legal funding and create a model that could be more flexible, practical and responsive to the realities clients were facing.

We believe that no one should have to walk away from a fair outcome and a better future because of their bank balance.

Together, they recognised a group of Australians who were falling through the cracks. Many had assets or an expected settlement ahead, but not the funds they needed at that point to access legal support. In family law matters especially, that could mean delaying action, accepting an outcome they were not comfortable with or struggling to afford the representation they needed.

The founders believed that access to legal support should not depend solely on someone’s immediate cash flow, income or credit history. There had to be a fairer and more practical way to help people move forward.

What began as a solution for people navigating family law matters soon developed into a broader purpose. By bringing together legal experience and flexible, asset-based funding, JustFund created a model designed around the realities clients face when their assets are not yet accessible.

Today, that work extends to estate funding and other legal finance solutions. The purpose remains the same: to help Australians facing difficult legal and financial circumstances access the support they need to move towards a fair outcome and a better future.
